  	Johannes Boogaard, aged 92, of Grand Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Meindert and Lena Boogaard; sister, Geri Pond; and brother, Cornelius Boogaard. He is survived by his wife of 42 years this coming May 6th, Irene Boogaard, of Grand Rapids; sons, Scott (Donna) Boogaard of Grand Rapids, Mark (Pat) Boogaard of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Adrianna Brown of FL; sisters-in-law, Noel Boogaard of Grand Rapids, Vivian Bathurst of FL, Shirley (Edward) Stout of IN; nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe served our country during WW II as a member of the US Navy and Navy Reserve. He worked for GM for over 38 years. Joe was known as the "Bicycle Man" and as an avid bicyclist he went all over the country with family, friends and the Antique Auto Tours. He was a member of the Rapid Wheelmen Bicycle Club.
